Day 1: Welcome to Japan - Kyoto arrival & cultural indulgence

Your journey begins with a seamless group transfer to Kyoto, where you’ll check into your hotel in the heart of Gion, Kyoto’s famed geisha district. Settle in and rejuvenate in the hotel’s public bath, embracing the tranquility of Japan’s bathing culture.

 

As evening falls, join your fellow travelers for a welcome event, where we’ll introduce you to the adventure ahead. Stroll through Kyoto’s enchanting streets on an evening walking tour, soaking in its historic charm.

 

The night concludes with a special dinner with a Maiko, offering a rare opportunity to experience Kyoto’s rich traditions, elegance, and artistry up close.

Day 2: Walk the Path of the Samurai - Kyoto

Step into the world of the Samurai as you begin your journey in Kyoto, the heart of Japan’s warrior legacy.

Take a day trip to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park, marvel at the beauty of Himeji Castle, chase waterfalls at Minoh Falls, or step into the magical world of Ghibli Park.

Day 7: From Osaka to Tokyo – A Tale of Two Cities

Savor a final taste of the Kansai region before boarding the early evening shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo, a thrilling high-speed journey to Japan’s vibrant capital.

Day 9: A Journey Through Kamakura’s Timeless Beauty

Enjoy a final breakfast before we gather for a seamless group transfer to the airport, ensuring a smooth and stress-free departure.

If you prefer, you may purchase travel insurance on your own. However, we will offer some assistance with travel insurance. OCCUPANCY DETAILS:

  • Double occupancy = two persons to a room

  • Single Occupancy = a single supplement will be charged. Solo travelers have until 90 days before departure to change to double occupancy (room supply permitted)

CANCELLATION & TRANSFERS:

  • Reservations may be transferred to another person up to and no later than 120 days prior to departure (fees may apply)

  • Airline tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable. Travel credit may be offered by the airline. 

  • Due to the nature of this trip all deposits and payments, beyond 72 hours from purchase, are nonrefundable. 

  • Cancellation must be in written form, via our primary method of contact - Tern Travel Portal. 

    • Cancellations beyond the 72 hour grace period after purchase may be subjected to TripIcare's cancellation fees. ​

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT DETAILS:

  • Travelers are responsible for ensuring that they have the proper travel documents and MUST CHECK with the respective consulate(s) or visa agency to determine whether any visas or passports are required.

    • Traveling with a Passport: Passports are required to be valid for at least 6 months after the date of travel. Some countries require a full blank “VISA” page in the passport for stamping purposes. Any information provided on travel description pertains to US citizens only. Non-US citizens should check with the respective consulate of the country(s) to be visited for current entry requirements. Reservations must be made in your FULL NAME as it appears on your passport.

  • The minimum age for this itinerary is 16 years of age. Please note, the legal drinking age in Japan is 20. Travelers under the age of 16 and their companion(s) will receive a partially modified itinerary.​

  • Travelers are held to a strict personal conduct policy. Please read our terms and conditions for better understanding. We are to remain mindful and respectful of each traveler as well as the culture of our visited country. 

    • Each traveler will be provided guidelines on sensitive cultural matters prior to departure. ​

  • When making your reservations, you can choose to pay in full or select our convenient payment plan. Milestone payments are required to avoid automatic cancellation of your trip; includes deposit, 180 days prior to departure, 120 days and 90 days prior to departure(final payment). No exceptions.

  • Travel documents, itineraries and travel instructions will be sent via email 30 days or earlier prior to travel. All documents will be sent via electronic mail and stored in your travel portal.

TRANSPORATION & AIR TRAVEL

  • Group Transfers are include with your trip, however airport pick-up and drop-off requires each traveler to arrive and depart within a certain date and time window. TripIcare will provide the arrival and departure dates and times no later than 9 months prior to departure. 

    • Early airline purchases are highly encouraged to ensure (a) most favorable pricing, and (b) most favorable seat selection.​

    • Please contact us if you prefer to utilize our services to arrange air travel. 

  • Pre & Post Trip add-on's also include airport pick-up and drop-off as well as required transfers to and from the group itinerary.

  • Trip itineraries and accommodations are subject to change, but we guarantee that any necessary adjustments will maintain the same exceptional quality and experience.

  • Travelers will receive a Photography and Social Media waiver with the option to accept or decline. Those who choose to decline will not e included in group photography activities or in any shared photos distributed to the travel group.  ​
  • This trip requires a moderate level of mobility, with travelers walking up to 15,000 steps per day, including numerous stairs. The pace will be steady, with ample opportunities to rest and take in the surroundings. However this itinerary is not recommended for those with mobility limitations. 
  • Travelers who opt-out of any group activity will not receive a refund or partial refund.
  • Travelers are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and responsibly. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the trip without a refund.
